Description text goes hereI was not one of those kids who always knew I wanted to be a pilot. In fact, I had already begun a career in the medical field. However, I did know that I wanted to travel the world and that I wanted a job that involved traveling. My pilot journey began in 2019 when I started training at Quality Aviation under Dan Emin. I fell in love with flying instantly and few days have gone by since that I have not been in a plane. After working through all my ratings I began working for Epps Aviation, a 135 charter based at PDK flying a PC-12. I am currently at Wheels Up, PIC typed in the CJ3. My future goals include flying for a legacy airline. I still love traveling and hope to always have been to more countries than my age; as well as visiting all 7 continents (a goal I set when I was 8 years old)- 2 more to go! I love flying anything Beechcraft (training bias- thanks Dan) and I hope to have my own Bonanza someday! When starting the PDKLP I honestly never thought it would grow to as many participants as it is today. I met Becky, Jacqueline, Sawyer and Victoria each at random but we instantly formed a connection based on a love of flying, common goals and being women in a male dominated field. We thought there had to be more girls out there like us that would like hanging out and I guess we were right! Thanks for being a part of the PDK family with us!

I grew up in a Delta family, so airplanes were always part of my life, even though I never imagined I’d be the one flying them. My mom, who immigrated from Argentina in search of the American Dream, always aspired to become a pilot herself but ultimately chose what felt like a safer path. While earning her MBA, she worked as a Delta flight attendant before moving into marketing. She was the one who taught me to chase what I love and trust that everything else would fall into place.
When I was 19, she surprised me with a discovery flight. I expected a quick scenic ride, but it turned into a completely life-changing experience when the instructor had me do everything from takeoff to landing. I was hooked! That summer, in 2017, I started training at Centennial Aviation Academy and earned my ratings over the next few years.
Today, I direct the youth programs at the same school where I also instructed for nearly 2,000 hours, and I fly corporate jets alongside my husband. The journey hasn’t always been easy, but it’s been incredibly rewarding, and I’m so grateful for the community I’ve found along the way. Now, my goal is to give back, especially by helping women find their place in aviation and pursue their own dreams. There’s nothing quite like the moment the wheels lift off the ground, and I hope to help others experience that feeling too.

Aviation was never a field I thought I would go into. Starting in third grade, I told anyone who would listen that I wanted to be a lawyer. I was studying to take the LSAT for law school admission during the summer of 2021 when I happened to go to an airshow. After that, I couldn’t get flying out of my head. I decided to get my private pilot’s certificate for fun. The first flight got me hooked. I stopped studying for the LSAT to pursue flying instead. I started my aviation journey at Centennial Aviation Academy at PDK. I worked in operations there, where I discovered my love for the world of flight training. It ignited a passion for helping students achieve their full potential and guiding them through the confusing world of training. After getting my commercial certificate, I decided to train with Dan Emin at Quality Aviation for my instructor certificates. I hope to complete my CFI soon and pass my love of aviation to others. I have had amazing opportunities to fly with many instructors in unique planes. I decided to take an aerobatic course with Greg Koontz after getting my instrument rating. I never knew I could love something so much. Since then, I have gotten my tailwheel endorsement and continued training in aerobatics. My long-term goal in aviation is to become an airshow pilot. Nothing is more exciting than hanging upside down thousands of feet above the ground or doing flips and tricks in the air! I am excited to help grow PDK Lady Pilots as a networking and mentoring community. The world needs more women pilots, starting here in our community! I cannot wait for the day when there are just as many women in the cockpit as there are men, so thank you for being part of that!

I'm not a pilot who has a history of aviation in my family, and I got into flying later in life. You might call this a second career for me. I took a discovery flight at the age of 41 just for fun, and like every pilot out there I immediately fell in love. After working my way through my ratings, I instructed for a couple years at the flight school where I learned to fly. Instructing is something I'm passionate about, and it's a part of my aviation journey I really loved. I enjoy the interaction with students and watching them succeed, but I especially enjoy the chance to mentor younger pilots. In early 2023 a corporate pilot opportunity presented itself and I jumped at the chance to grow my skills and broaden my experience. I currently fly a Citation Sovereign+ out of FTY for an Atlanta-based company. I can honestly say I love going to work, and even better | enjoy the people I get to fly with. When we founded PDK Lady Pilots, we recognized a need in the PDK aviation community for the kind of support that we'd been giving each other all along. We had no idea it would grow as much as it has! Surrounding yourself with pilots going through the same experiences makes the journey easier, and it's always good to know someone just a few steps ahead to offer guidance when you need it. We're glad you're part of our community!

I'm Sawyer, a pilot who embarked on my flight training journey in 2015. I'm proud to be one of the founding members of the PDK Lady Pilots, and my mission is to inspire and encourage girls to take to the skies. Aviation has always been my passion, and I'm dedicated to breaking down barriers and showing that the sky is not the limit for women in aviation.

My name is Jacqueline and I am a Certificated Flight Instructor. My love for travel and flying came at a young age growing up in Portugal, France, and England, with many weekend trips flying around Europe. I continued the adventure in college studying abroad in the UK, eventually teaching English in Japan, as well as nannying and taking fashion courses in Paris. I discovered aviation when I became a flight attendant and knew the life was for me. I initially flew for a United regional, worked as a flight attendant for Delta Air Lines. I love the constant change and challenge that aviation and being a pilot offers. I really look forward to building a strong female pilot community with the PDK Lady Pilot group, and meeting likeminded pilots.
