Workshops

PDKLP offers regular free workshops for members, focused on practical skills and career development in aviation. These workshops cover topics such as:

  • Pilot resume review

  • Airline interview preparation

  • Pilot ground school

  • Additional pilot and career-focused subjects

Sessions are led by members of the PDKLP leadership team, all of whom are industry professionals with real-world experience. The goal is to provide useful guidance, honest feedback, and insight based on current industry standards.

These workshops are included with membership and are typically programs that, elsewhere, cost hundreds of dollars.

Workshops to expect:

  • We’ve noticed that many PDKLP members submit resumes for scholarships that aren’t tailored specifically for pilot positions. Having an industry-standard pilot resume can be valuable at every stage of an aviation career—from student pilots just getting started, to CFIs applying for their first pilot jobs, to members preparing for airline applications. Professional resume review services often charge hundreds of dollars for this type of guidance.

  • Many pilots applying to the airlines have never flown turbine aircraft—and that’s completely okay. However, airline interviews often include questions on turbine and jet-related systems and aerodynamics. Our goal is to help bridge the gap between primary flight training and initial airline training, ensuring you’re prepared, confident, and interview-ready.

  • Ground school can become expensive, especially later in training—such as during multi-engine courses. PDK Lady Pilots aim to lend a helping hand by offering occasional ground school workshops where members can suggest and vote on the topics they’d like to review. These sessions are led by a certified flight instructor and are provided at no cost to members.

  • Our community is incredibly diverse, and we welcome member input. If there’s a specific workshop you’d like to see—or if you’re interested in leading a workshop to share a particular skill or area of expertise—we’d love to hear from you.
